Environmental drilling and sampling services are the main solutions that offer by Diversified Drilling Inc. (DDI). Our clients use these solutions to investigate, monitor, and sometimes remediate purposes in a specific job site. It’s important to choose the right drilling technology and sampling techniques. This selection is usually based on different ground conditions. For instance, we can point to underlying geology and hydrology and the existence of contamination in the soil or groundwater.

During past 20 years, our team was continuously providing drilling services to cover their clients’ requirements. We employ a wide range of environmental drilling and sampling techniques and tools to provide data for engineering and design. In addition, we have consistently produced accurate undisturbed soil and groundwater samples and constructed wells for monitoring and remediation efficiently.

To achieve these goals, we use many different types of drilling applications such as Hollow Stem Auger, Direct Push and AMS systems. Similarly, we are using Limited Access Drilling equipments in many geotechnical or environmental investigations. For instance, we operate them to work in narrow opening places or height limitations such as backyards, driveways or warehouses.

We currently operate Limited Access and Track Mounted 7720DT and Direct Push 5400 Truck Mounted Geoprobes to perform any job requests. In other words, we use Geoprobes to perform following drilling methods:

Hollow Stem Auger

DDI team typically deploys Hollow Stem Auger Drilling rigs when drilling to shallow depths (less than 50ft). However, we use them to install monitoring wells up to 8” in diameter either.

Our hollow stem auger technicians are efficient and often work on geotechnical projects to collect soil samples and perform SPT. In addition, they work on environmental drilling projects to sample and construct monitoring or recovery wells. They usually use Track Mounted 7720DT Geoprobes for these purposes. Although, we can use any other drill rigs to perform the jobs depend on the clients’ requirements.

Direct Push

Our advancing exploratory Geoprobes performs the subsurface exploration and Direct Push Drilling jobs. A Direct Push machine allows for sub surface sampling in a cost effective manner. It drives hollow boring rods down into the ground using static and percussive force. Because of their mobility and the tracks, they are more capable in most site conditions. For the same reason, we prefer using Direct Push over a conventional drilling system. Above all, the benefits of using a Direct Push machines are ample and can be seen below:

– It has a small footprint that does not limit access.
– It creates minimal waste.

– Can do a lot of work in a small amount of time

Limited Access Drilling equipments are essential to operate in many geotechnical or environmental investigations when we have to work in narrow opening places or height limitations such as backyards, driveways or warehouses. Also, limited access drilling machines greatly increase safety and maneuverability in slopes.

Direct push Drilling (DP) typically uses to drive or push small diameter (Usually less than four inches in diameter) rods and tools into the subsurface by hydraulic or percussive methods.

Direct push Drilling method is applicable in unconsolidated sediments. It is most applicable for shallow depths (less than 100 feet). Soil, groundwater, and soil gas samples can be collected by this method. Both single tube and dual tube DP methods are used for sampling of soils and groundwater. DP methods also may be used to install monitoring wells and soil vapor sampling devices.

Auger drilling systems are commonly used to set ground water monitoring wells, obtaining soil samples and performing Standard Penetration Testing (SPT) by auto hammer system for environmental and geotechnical applications. Also, we use AMS soil augers for obtaining disturbed soil samples at or near the surface and for boring to depths where samples may be obtained with a soil sampler or soil core sampler.
